Inspired

My mom woke at 5:30AM and started to prepare some food to sell. She finally stopped and finished at 9PM. Came to the dinner table with a green shirt  that she probably has no idea what the word on it says. Started to talk about how she sold an order and that lead to more orders and so on, which led to her saying “Finally, I can say I’m rich. Hahaha.” I sat there eating quietly thinking if you only knew how much of an inspiration you are. I sat or laid in my room watching Naruto videos all day. I like being a blob. I need a break before I burn myself out. No worries though. I’ll pick myself up and go hard eventually. I’m inspired. Today, I thought of some new designs and I’m bringing back a few things. It’s my fifth season now. Some of you may be like what?! Fifth one already? Well it’s my fifth design out, but I release designs one at a time. It makes sense time-wise, so for all I’m concerned, it’s my fifth season. I learned the hard way on what works and what doesn’t. I’m taking a risk on this fifth one though.  I’m taking a stretch and making this one the craftiest season yet. I’m getting deeper into this craft scene through craft fairs so it’s starting to rub off on me. I’m still keeping it within the brand and making everything as ‘Tiger” as possible. Some of you know what I’m talking about.

Catch Up

I fallen out of my usual blogging routine since it’s summer and interesting news comes out slower. Here’s a quick catch up. First and foremost,  I’m going to try not buy Costco samples anymore. They just never taste the same back at home.
Second, I shouldn’t have to tell most of you what this is. I’ll give you a hint anyways. I swear this place has to be older than I am. Third, this was actually yesterday. I wanted some soup in bread because I never had some before. I was slightly disappointed because the bread was sourdough. It wasn’t until I ate it that I reminded myself I didn’t like sourdough bread. The thought of sour bread is strange to me.
After the soup in bread lunch was a quick trip to The Container Store. That’s the real name of the place. It was probably one of the biggest stores that sold things I didn’t even know I needed. See those cupcake transport containers? Genius! That guy was thinking the same thing. I think I sold it to him when I said the containers are stackable. I needed to clean my room/studio because I’m starting to push out all the things I was planning to make this summer. Everything is so cluttered. While I was throwing everything around, I found this. It’s a goodie bag from my friend Belinda. She gave it to me at the Patchwork show.I love free stuff. Especially when I know how hard it is to make it.Anyways, Belinda is a nice way to end this blog because her aesthetic helped to inspired the newest collection of clothes I’m pushing out. That’s all I’m saying for now.

Humble and Hungry

AHHHHH, I got an honorable mention. =] I honestly don’t know how to feel right now. I do a lot of contest and put 110% in all of them. I haven’t won one yet and it’s a little discouraging at time, but I keep my head up and move on to the next. I really didn’t know what to expect entering this contest. I thought it was all up in the air. No pun intended. =] My video was in it’s own category so I didn’t know how to call it. However, the honorable mention gives me a little more direction with this art thing. It was my first animation so I’m going to explore this a little bit more.

Everything is still a little overwhelming. I need to calm down a bit and brush this off to the side as with everything. I try not to let anything get to my head. I like to stay humble and hungry.

Feel Good Stuff

As I sit around in this exhausting heat, I figured I should get on to the next project. I needed a little break since the Dumbfoundead video took a lot out of me. Considering all the good feedback I got on it, I figured I want to keep pursuing this animation thing a little bit more. See where it takes me. Everything else is kind of on hold at the moment as I just make videos. Well for the next project, I wanted to go back to the basics, like my “It’s Going Sour” video below. Same format, different dialogue. I can go film it with actors or animate it or whatever, but I feel it’s unnecessary. It’s quite powerful with just the words. I know it probably won’t get as much views on Youtube because of the thumbnail, but I’m not in it for the views. I’m just trying to make some feel good stuff.

I’m giving myself a 2 week deadline to get this done.

Dumbfoundead-Up in the Air RELEASED!

Now back to some blogging. The past week was literally sleep, eat, work, and an occasional “Ahhhh, I’m going to just give up now” lay on the bed. It was my first time animating so I just taught myself as I went along. After all the hard work, I’m done and this is what I have to show you. I’m somewhat proud of it. I’m like that with all my work. There is still room to improve it, but I tried my best considering my time constraint. I put some references in it like the picture you see above. It’s the “Flying V” from The Mighty Ducks. =] I even threw in some Michael Jackson in the middle if you can spot it. Well here it is. Make sure to watch it in HD. =]

San Francisco Lessons

I’m still working on that Dumbfoundead music video. I don’t think I’ll finish in time, but I’ll finish it either way. Until then, I found these lessons that I wrote while I was in San Francisco. They popped up on my Word documents when I opened it. 

6/12/10

It’s really hilly. The water is really close. There are a lot of two story buildings. LA means socal. South san Francisco is not san Francisco. The BART is a subway. Cable car not free. Castro is gay area. Chinese people get jumped in Oakland. South San Francisco is Flip town. There is really nothing on the way to norcal. Travel up the coast for more stuff to see. There are a lot of trees here.

6/13/10

The fog comes in all day. The bridge is really high. SF is like LA and OC combined. The beach has fog over it. Everything is pretty much in the same area. There really is a Bubba Gump here. O in SFO is just international code. Oysters can be open from the butt. There are too many Chinese people in Chinatown. The hills annoy me. I’m scare of heights. People really do the robot on the streets. Summer is tourist season. Get a new lens so I don’t look so tourist like.

That’s about all I wrote. Hopefully I can get this video out soon. It’s really draining.

SNEAK PEEK!

Here’s for those that always come to my page. I thought I give you a little something to chew on while I work on it. The color is all weird, but no worries. It’s just a preview. Hopefully I’ll be done with this little project by Monday so all you can see. It was giving me a headache in the beginning. I kept redrawing it. I eventually got to a point where I didn’t care anymore if anything made sense and just did me. =] I actually like how this is turning out.
